Curodont® Treatment

5. curodent.png

What Is It?

Curodont® is a non-invasive treatment designed to help support the natural repair of very early cavities before a filling is needed. It is applied directly to areas of early enamel damage and works by encouraging the tooth's natural remineralization process.

Curodont® is most effective for cavities in their earliest stages, before a hole has formed in the tooth. It offers a conservative approach to managing early tooth decay while preserving healthy tooth structure.

At Spark Pediatric Dentistry of Illinois, we believe in identifying dental problems early and using the least invasive treatment possible whenever appropriate.

Who Can Benefit?

Curodont® may be recommended for:

o   Children with very early cavities (white spot lesions)

o   Children with early enamel demineralization

o   Children at increased risk for cavities

o   Children who would benefit from a minimally invasive treatment approach

o   Patients who want to help prevent early cavities from progressing

Not all cavities are candidates for Curodont®. During your child's examination, we will determine whether this treatment is appropriate for their specific needs.

Parent-Friendly FAQ

What is Curodont® used for?

Curodont® is used to help treat very early stages of tooth decay before a cavity progresses and requires a filling.

Does Curodont® hurt?

No. The treatment is completely non-invasive and does not require drilling, injections, or numbing.

Can Curodont® replace a filling?

Curodont® is designed for very early cavities. Once a cavity has progressed and formed a hole in the tooth, a filling or other restorative treatment may still be necessary.

How do I know if my child is a candidate for Curodont®?

During your child's examination, we will evaluate the tooth and determine whether the area is still in the early stages of decay and appropriate for treatment.

How long does it take to work?

The remineralization process occurs gradually over time. Follow-up visits allow us to monitor the area and evaluate the treatment response.

Is Curodont® safe for children?

Yes. Curodont® is a safe, minimally invasive treatment option when used appropriately and as recommended by your dentist.

Will my child still need fluoride treatments?

Possibly. Curodont® and fluoride serve different purposes and may be used together as part of a comprehensive preventive care plan.
